Finally shook the bangover from the show last weekend so I figured it was time for a post. Not everything is as fresh as it should be so bare with me.

First off the band wants to give a huge thanks to Justin ‘Cheese’ Musloe, as I’m sure most of you know Adam had to leave us due to his career picking up. We talked to Cheese about filling in for the event and within a few rehearsal sessions he was up to speed. Dude, you did a great job stepping into Mr. Isenberg’s shoes and whenever we can have you back you’re more than welcome to join the fold. Thanks buddy, 100% appreciate it (great job, high five, etc.).

Where to start… well we almost blew the event off because we were feeling lazy due to Skip’s Christmas Gift to the us.

The show was a blast, great to see some new faces in the crowd as well as our favorite supporters come get weird with us. Added bonus; I got to sign this girls teeth again. Identity X continues to tolerate our shenanigans and throw us on these events which blows my mind. Thanks much homies, can’t wait for the next one, and don’t worry we have your $6. The New Era, Cursed Icon & My Greater Sky great to hang with you, hopefully we can do it again soon.

To me our set was a blur… so here’s what stood out; personally I think this is one of the best sounding shows we’ve played yet. After the mixing board disaster that happened when we played with Asking Alexandria it was such a relief to play in front of our people with a proper mix. Altar Bar keep up the good work, as locals we take notice and love it.

The set was cool, no technical difficulties thankfully. Hope you all enjoyed the new one we played for you, it’s called Skyline for future referance.

At this point I think it should be noted that the first attempt at a triangle pit could have gone better. Apparently no one studied the diagram. I give it a C- over all, mostly because you were able to pull it together at the last minute.

… and Alec Jones better be enjoying his winnings after Mosh-Pit-Capture-the-Flag.

So what’s next? At the moment we’re van shopping which is exciting, I’m looking forward to getting out of the city. Playing random VFWs and makeshift venues has always been one of my favorite parts of being in a band, you always seam to meet the best people at those shows. As far as the line up is concerned we’re going to continue moving forward as a four piece, our door is certainly open to any guitarist who may want to join the team. However the focus is now on release #2 and getting that ready with who and what we have at our disposal.

Over all The Abominable Show Jam was great and I hope we get asked back next year. As a band we’re in a great place artistically right now and I hope you guys are looking forward to a new release as much as we are. Till then stay classy/get trashy Pittsburgh.

    November 12, 2011 | Posted By: | Asking Alexandria · Borgore · Club Zoo · Tuesday's Too Late · We Came As Romans |

Wow, last night was a blast.  By far the most fun that we’ve ever had at Club Zoo.  A big thank you from us to all involved that put on the show.  Here’s a quick rundown of the event.

When we got there we walked onto one of the most ridiculous backline situations we’ve ever seen. I did not know that you could fit that much gear onto that stage, from Asking Alexandria‘s ridiculous drum riser and dummy cabs, to the stripper pole heavy set up that Borgore brought with him, shit was crammed. Ended up doing a gear share with the dudes in Tuesday’s Too Late (great guys, check em out). So we get all set up and have some time to kill before doors, hang out, watch the other openers, hang at the merch booth, normal stuff. Isaac from Faded Industry showed up with bottles of Clique & Don for us, very nice.

Time to go on; still a total gear cluster fuck on stage but make the best with what you’re given right? Then the fun starts, our people in the crowd start singing happy birthday to Adam, was his 25th the next day so we were celebrating that night, off to a great start. Then the only bummer of the evening occored, something happened at the main mixing board and they lost track of what line went to what instrument. All the sound checking and premixing out the window, gonezo. As we played they fix almost everything back to the original settings, everything that is aside from the playback and electronics (boo). So the crowd missed out on some bloops & bleeps that we think are pretty cool, nothing huge though, you still get 90% of a Doomsday show with out that stuff. Remember how we said the stage was small… well thankfully Skip didn’t feel the need to use it and spent the majority of the show hanging with the crowd.

Show went great, unfortunately we had to sacrifice the new song that we were going to play due to the time taken up by the mixing issues. Guess you’ll have to wait till the Altar show in Dec to hear that one.

All in all great evening, made some new friends, gave out some download cards for the the newclassicmodernvintage EP, I got to sign this girls teeth, went out for Adam‘s Birthday afterwards. Total blast, thanks to everyone who came to hang with us and hopefully some new faces are reading this.

    Stay classy Pittsburgh
